Aftermath book Shaun in the future please pay someone to edit your books They would be so much better I m half way through and while the story is compelling I am getting tired of the writing The author uses the word then way too often when describing action scenes I am also finding that the main characters are frequently being thrown against things with bone crunching thuds and having their heads slammed into things with loud cracks yet they get up and walk away with only a little soreness only to be tossed around again in the next few pages One last complaint they are frequently caught by the bad guys and threatened with death They see the blade coming down or feel the gun at their head and suddenly the bad guy is the one that drops dead and they are rescued once again 9780615715124 I received this book for free from the author in a Goodreads Giveaway I was really impressed with this book I read the note from the author where he talks about a lot of criticisms because people apparently didn t know the book contained was based around religious material and that made me a tad skeptical but I m willing to admit it was for nothing because this book was fabulous I m not religious and have found some books with religious ties in there to be tacky but this novel was anything but While you re reading you can tell the author believes and feels in his work and that helps a lot with the story not that the story needed it He created an excellent multi verse with a strong set of characters to take you through it I don t think lack of a religion or perhaps a different religion should stop you from reading this cause it really is a good sci fi novel 9780615715124 I have to say that Aftermath is even better and action packed than the first bookThe Mission And that s saying a lot because I absolutely loved the first book If I could give this book 6 stars I would In fact I finished this book in just a couple of days I couldn t put it down I also love the way Shaun Messick incorporates LDS doctrine into the theme And yet at the same time creates a story that is mind blowing and fascinating Mr Messick s second book is also well edited I did not notice any spelling errors or typos which is a marked improvement from the first book In comparison I have noticed errors in other best selling novels such as Harry Potter or the Twilight series and I loved those books as well But if your reading to find errors in my opinion you re not enjoying the journey on which a book can take you Nonetheless Worlds Without End Aftermath is a fascinating read I am recommending this book to my family and friends and have officially become one of Shaun F Messick s biggest fans I can t wait for the 3rd book in the series 9780615715124 Frankly I did not expect Aftermath so soon after all the criticism that the writer received last time I did not expect second volume of Worlds Without End for a while But it is out and I am actually glad Prose is slightly polished plot is uncomplicated but full of action almost reminiscent of early sci fi stories published in pulp magazines back in 1920s and 1930s. Aftermath records I give this book 5 Stars not because this is a greatest book of all time but because it is different and in my opinion original In the age of me toos it is refreshing to see an author to write something that is completely congruent with his beliefs and worldview Book utilizes doctrine of LDS Church and has strong religious overtones Author is open about it and learning a lesson from criticism he received last time he includes a handy reference page that explains some of the esoteric religious points that makes following the plot easier Book is also unabashedly pro American and celebrates the American spirit So be warned Overall Aftermath is a marked improvement over the first volume The Mission If you enjoyed the first volume or simply would like to read a different take on a sci fi genre by a promising writer while keeping an open mind then give it a try. Aftermath 2024 Little side note publication is well formatted for Kindle includes a click able table of contents always a plus and well edited 9780615715124 As I commented on the first book I am not a Mormon With that being said I do not believe in all of the theological beliefs mentioned in the series but this book and the previous book in this series is well written It is science fiction which lead me to believe that even though there may a strong under current of any religion belief it is still science fiction Even though I may not believe all of the author s religious beliefs I think it is a good book and I am looking forward to read the next book in the series Books that are written about space planets and space science always gets my attention I hope that next book in the series will be as well written as the previous two books 9780615715124
