I felt there was a great amount of information added in here and there and we got to know the characters well After about halfway through I started to feel rushed People were thrown in left and right and then I started to get confused on who was with who and what they were supposed to be doing or bringing to the story I would have loved to have a little info and story on the ex boyfriend to make him believable as the bad guy Even though the second half of the short story was rushed as a whole the story was a good intro to Graylin s new Summer Fey series I am intrigued enough that I wouldn t mind reading what comes next for Tessa Contagion Summer Fae.

This book is now part of CONTESSA PRINCESS OF THE SUMMER FAE In 2012 a flu epidemic killed millions Among the survivors struggling to adapt Tessa flees to her family s cabin only to find it already occupied by fairies After a companionable year with her new housemates Tessa again has to adapt to a parade of creatures of myth and legend on her property including a baby dragon and a tiny goblin All the creatures aren t so friendly and Tessa soon learns she s in the battle for her very life and the life of those she s come to love Driven by a maniacal monster with a personal grudge against Tessa ogres hunt humans to make way for a new evil regime on Earth Only Tessa and her small friends stand between hope and annihilation Contagion Summer Fae 1 I enjoyed this very short story 35 pages The author was clear that this was a short I was looking for a quick read to fill lazy evening In 2012 mankind has almost been wiped out by a virus that swept quickly though the population One of the few survivors Tessa flees to a secluded family cabin to try and rebuild her life only to find it filled with fairies All is quiet for a while until she finds her life and the lives of her new friends in danger There are fairies dragons ogres elves myth galore It is a delightful short read by an autumn fire Contagion Summer Fae 1 With dark forces threatening to take over the human realm this fun story of fairies little goblins and baby dragons turns deadly Tessa learns these forces are after her not to destroy her as they did her family but to convince her to join them. Contagion game Though with all of the information packed into the first chapter I would have liked to see Contagion developed into a novella rather than as a short story Contagion Summer Fae 1 reviewed by found that CONTAGION started off great I was totally interested in what was being written and how things were explained in the story Tessa was interesting and I enjoyed reading how she came to be living at her family s cabin and how she became the only living member of her family The pacing in the beginning was great 1 For the length that this was 35 pages I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it The Fae or the Dark part of the Fae at least decided that they would wipe out humanity one way or another You don t get a very good sense of this up in Tessa s cabin though She freely admits that the nearest neighbors would have been miles away its pretty snowy out and she s not in real want of anything anyhow Her cabin mates help her provide food and she s good at keeping herself busy otherwise. Contagion witch build poe 2 What surprised me most was that Fox gives a good impression of Tessa without going overboard on the exposition There s always some to be expected in short stories less time to let things be shown organically after all but the sense of who Tessa was came through even before she became the topic of the moment. Contagion vr cheats My only problem with the story was that Fox would introduced an interesting concept or character such as the baby dragon Jasper but before it can really develop she ll toss in another one like the Goblin cook cleaner This happened repeatedly throughout the story and frustrated me in no small part because it almost felt like she was tossing in every extraneous Fae creature she could to round out the cast. Pdf contains renderable text In the end I enjoyed the story and enjoyed the premise Fox set up but I wish there was I wish we had been shown the connection between Tessa and Matthew a little clearly so that when the ending came about it had impact I wish we could have lingered a little longer on what the world was like now that the Fae were playing Conquistador all over From the author s blog I assume there shall be set in the Summer Fae world I certainly hope I ll look forward to hearing about it Contagion Summer Fae 1
